Kitchen Remodeling Project #1 ~ Kitchen Upgrade This kitchen remodel consisted of changing the layout so that the refrigerator is in a new location, pulling up the old linoleum, keeping the existing cabinets and installing new cabinetry where the refrigerator used to be. We changed out the hardware and installed a new granite countertop with a custom tile backsplash. The linoleum wash replaced with white oak hardwood floors which were carried into the attached dinette area and family room. The ceilings were demolished so that we could install the recessed lighting in the kitchen anddinette area and then we finished them with a knockdown texture. ~ Before ~ ~ After ~ ~ Before ~ ~ After ~ Project #2 ~ Eat-in Kitchen From this vantage point you can pretty much compare the before and the after. We totally revamped where the appliances are. All of the custom cabinets were taken out and all new custom cabinets went in. The sub-zero was moved to where the oven/microwave was. The hood over the cooktop is massive and works well over the commercial stove with a double oven. There were extra subtle things that now make this a gourmet kitchen. Notice the ambient lighting in the upper cabinets. The backsplash behind the cooktop is now a great focal point and really shows off our homeowners' taste in design.
