Paver Patios and Landscaping Click on pictures below for larger versions! Project Details: We excavated down 13" for a 9' x 12 paver patio to be installed. You can see that since this patio was underneath an existing deck, that the excavating was a lot of manual labor due to the deck posts. We used three different sizes of pavers and laid them in a random pattern and then gave the patio a nice finished look with the soldier course around the perimeter of the patio.
