Storm Damage Home Remodeling

Exterior Before and After Photos
The old exterior was a combination of vinyl siding and brick. As you
can see we used vinyl siding again, but updated the look by using shakes
on the gables of the house. We also eliminated the brick and used
natural stone on the front pillars to draw your eye to the front entry.
The house also received a new roof along with new aluminum soffits and
fascia. The house now has a new personality that reflects our homeowners
style and taste.
Garage Before and After Photos
The homeowners lost their garage in the 2008 Hugo tornado. You will
see in the before picture that the entire front elevation of the house
was destroyed. The finished house doesn't show any evidence of the
events of the tornado.
Foyer & Stairway Before and After Photos
In the before picture you will see that the trim work was very
traditional and had the shiny brass hardware. The railing and newel
posts were also very traditional looking but had to be replaced due to
glass being embedded in parts of the wood. When we trimmed out the
house, you can see how we updated the trim work around the closet door
and all of the hardware is now the oil rubbed bronze hardware. The
railing on the wall was eliminated and moved to the other side of the
stairway and the newel posts and spindles now have a more current and
updated look. This again reflects the design taste of our homeowners.
Kitchen Before and After Photos
We were able to salvage most everything in the kitchen. The
homeowners kept the appliances and the cabinet framing but decided to
update the kitchen by having new cabinet doors made. You will notice
that the old kitchen had the arch in the cabinet doors. The new door
fronts have more of a craftsman look and new hardware. The owners also
had one set of cabinets with the frosted glass inserts just to add a
little bit of a contemporary flare to the cabinets. We also added some
pendant lighting that was lacking before.
Fireplace Before and After Photos
The fireplace before had a more traditional feel to it with the raised
hearth and the low profile mantle. The new fireplace has a slate tile
look along with a reclaimed piece of wood which was used as the new
mantle. We eliminated the raised hearth and inlaid the tile. The
hardwood floors were stripped, sanded and refinished. Again, all new
trim work around the windows as well as base shoe.
